The Passionate Olive

When our midwife recommended olive oil as the best form of lotion for our new baby, I was intrigued.  When I found The Passionate Olive – 101 Things to do with Olive Oil on my parent’s bookshelf, I was curious.  I had no idea that olive oil had so many uses!  From cooking, to health and beauty, to uses around the house and even for your pets, this book has it all.

This morning I tried a recipe for homemade baby wipes recommended in the book!

2 cups warm water, 2 tablespoons of baby shampoo and 2 tablespoons of olive oil; dip paper towels (I used clothes) into mixture and wring out extra moisture; store towels in baby wipe container (I used a plastic bag).

I had an opportunity to test out the wipes during a blow out later in the day.  🙂  The natural, homemade wipes worked well!  The Passionate Olive also has an interesting recipe for dog treats that I would like to try.  The author has an interesting website with more suggestions.

Overall, the book was very interesting and would make a great gift for any foodie!
