Alright, super breastfeeding moms out there!  This post is for you.  I need some thoughts or suggestions on getting rid of what appears to be yeast infections on my nipples.  Help!

  1. I’m not sure if it would be effective, but it certainly can’t hurt: Plain yogurt (no sugar) I used this as an alternative to Monistat a few years ago and it absolutely worked (cover a tampon in it and insert…3 times a day).
I would paste some on your nipple(s) for as long as you can and then rinse off. Do this at least a few times a day. Do not use soap to remove, though, because that will irritate your nipples. I’m sorry you’re experiencing this! Does the baby have any sign of infection in his/her mouth?

  2. OH no! I think the over the counter anti-yeast cream works on this – clotrimazole. Owen would often get the yeast diaper rash, and this cleared it up. http://www.breastfeeding-basics.com/articles/yeast-infections-or-thrush
